Nordic Craft Week 2019
Nordic Craft Week är ett intiativ från Nordiska hemslöjdsförbundet där Sverige ingår tillsammans med hemslöjdsförbunden i Estland, Danmark, Island, Norge, Färöarna och Finland. Veckan syftar till att lyfta våra gemensamma hantverkstraditioner och bidra till ett kulturellt utbyte länderna emellan. Nordic Craft Week mynnar ut i Hemslöjdens dag den 7 september!
2019 är temat vantar. Varje medlemsland delar ett noga utvalt vantmönster – fritt för alla att använda! Börja sticka nu så kan du lägga ett par vantar i varje paket i jul!

Faroe Island mittens in two color pattern

Yarn
Snældan 2 threaded 100 % sheep wool
- Cast on 48 stitches with color 1, and knit 20 rows of 1 knit 1 purl
- Then increase to 64 stitches evenly on all 4 pins, knit 2 rows then start knitting the pattern with color 1 and 2, after knitting 17 rows, knit 2 stitches then take a different color yarn, and knit 9 stitches for thumb. Continue knitting 32 more rows, then start decreasing.
- Knitting only with color 1, Knit 2 stitches together then knit 24 stitches knit 3 stitches together, do the same on the other side. Knit like this on every row until 2 stitches are left on each pin, fasten off.
- Thumb: then knitting in color 1, pull out the different color stitches for thumb, and place the 18 stitches on 3 pins, pick up 1 stitch on both sides of the 9 stitches, do you now have 20 stitches, and increase 1 stitch on the inside of the thumb to 21 stitches, thus you have 7 stitches on each pin. Knit 23 rows, and start decreasing. Knit together 2 stitches on each pin on every row until 2 stitches remain on each pin, fasten off.
